ESPN's FPI Projects Winner Of Mississippi State vs. Arkansas

ESPN's FPI has projected the winner of the upcoming contest between Mississippi State and Arkansas.

Mississippi State (3-3) has still yet to win its first SEC game of the season, looking to do just that as the Bulldogs face the Arkansas Razorbacks (2-4) in Fayetteville on Saturday.

ESPN's FPI, which projects the outcome of every college football game during the season has Arkansas as the favorite, giving Sam Pittman's team a 67.6% chance of winning.

Both teams are looking to gain bowl eligibility with the odds stacked against them to do just that. One thing to note here is that Arkansas has the worse overall record, and has had its struggles the same way MSU has.

But it's also simple to see why the team is favored here looking at quality of competition and margin of victory in wins.

Before the open date, MSU recorded an uncharacteristically close, 41-28 win over the Western Michigan Broncos. Arkansas's one win behind MSU, but the Razorbacks nearly upset the No. 11-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in their latest contest, falling 24-21 on the road.

It will be interesting to see how this one shakes out as the Razorbacks and the Bulldogs face off at 11 a.m. CT over the weekend.
