Former NFL Pro Bowler Slams Dak Prescott Following Cowboys' 42-10 Loss To 49ers
The performance by the Dallas Cowboys in "Sunday Night Football" could hardly have been more abysmal as former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott and his team were blown out, 42-10 by the San Francisco 49ers.
It was one of the rougher performances over recent history for Prescott, who went 14-of-24 passing for 153 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.
Following the loss, former NFL safety and current NBC Sports Bay Area analyst Donte Whitner slammed Prescott for his play.
"Dak Prescott sucks. Period," Whitner said simply.
While Prescott has been a polarizing prospect in the NFL for some time now, he has a loyal following and the Cowboys seem to have backed him with their words to this point.
"They (the Dallas Cowboys) talk so much about Dak Prescott being a top-tier quarterback, franchise guy, I don't see it," Whitner continued. "I see them trying to cover up for what he lacks. A lot of quick throws, cutting half of the field off and giving him easy throws. Other than that he's not a quarterback that can drop back and really take advantage of a defense and carve it up and today we've seen it."
So far this season, Prescott has completed 69.4% of his passes for 1,061 yards with 5 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
He'll look to bounce back as the Cowboys take on the Los Angeles Chargers on the road Monday.
