Highlights: Mississippi State Defeats Arkansas, 7-3
Mississippi State (4-3) got its first victory of the 2023 college football season on Saturday as it delivered yet another loss to the struggling Arkansas Razorbacks (2-6) on the road in Fayetteville.
It was far from the most electric game as MSU snagged a 7-3 victory, which could hardly have come in uglier fashion, but a victory is a victory.
Both teams struggled on either side of the ball in a game filled with mistakes and missed opportunities.
Backup quarterback Mike Wright had his moments but finished out with an overall lackluster stat line in the place of Will Rogers, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Wright finished the game 8-of-12 passing for 85 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also led the team in rushing with 11 carries for 60 yards.
That's not entirely reflective of how important he was in such a low-scoring game, though, leading MSU on the ground.
Defensively, this marks the first time the Bulldogs have held an FBS team to 24 points or less in 2023.
Here's a look at some of the best plays of the game for both sides:
