How Much Could the Dallas Cowboys Save By Cutting Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott?
If Dak Prescott is cut or traded, the Cowboys could save millions of dollars in cap space.
After the 2024 NFL season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is eligible to be a free agent.
If the Cowboys do decide to let Prescott go, then they could save $34 million in salary cap space. If they keep Prescott, he will receive a roster bonus in March that will get added to the $29 million base salary he has for 2024.
Although keeping Prescott takes a lot of the team's salary, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has expressed that he plans to keep Prescott.
Until fans see the contract in Prescott's hands, there will still be suspicion about the two-time Pro Bowler's future. The Cowboys may have to reevaluate whether they have their money in order or not to ensure successful seasons in the future.
