Breaking Down The Salaries of Mississippi State Football's Coaching Staff

Taking a look at the salaries for Mississippi State football's new regime.

Since Zach Arnett was named the head football coach of Mississippi State, he's been working extensively behind the scenes putting together a new coaching staff to lead the Bulldogs.

His first move was naming linebackers coach Matt Brock as the new defensive coordinator, who Arnett says called much of the plays during the Bulldogs' 19-10 win over Illinois in the ReliaQuest Bowl back in January.

After signing on as the new defensive coordinator, Brock's salary jumped from $465,000 to $800,000 in a new deal that lasts through 2025. Meanwhile, Arnett hired Appalachian State's offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay for the same role at Mississippi State, making $900,000.

During Arnett's rehaul of the coaching staff, the Bulldogs brought in five new position coaches while returning five coaches from the previous staff under Mike Leach's tenure. A source with knowledge of the situation told the Clarion-Ledger information of the coaching staff's salaries, showing who got a raise and who is being paid the same.
