Around The SEC: LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels Faces Injury in 49-39 Loss To Mizzou

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was forced to exit Saturday's contest against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday with an injury.

During the fourth quarter of Saturday's game, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels left the matchup with an apparent injury that has not been formally and publicly disclosed to this point.

His injury was caused by a late hit on a touchdown run, later called back due to a holding penalty.

Shortly after the ordeal, Daniels was seen entering the injury tent on the sidelines and backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier came into the game in his place.

Daniels came back in after Maason Smith got his first sack of the season and forced a punt from Mizzou.

With LSU down 32-27, Daniels fought through the pain to pick up a first down with his legs to keep the drive going and help the Tigers gain back the momentum. On third down with 3 yards to go, he scored a 35-yard touchdown on a quarterback draw to put LSU on top.

Mizzou would go on to put points up on the board one more time, but Daniels and the defensive side of the ball -- which has been largely subpar -- took care of business.

The LSU Tigers were still able to beat 5-0 Mizzou by 10 points to secure a 4-2 season record with a final score of 49-39.
