Watch: Everything Mississippi State Head Coach Zach Arnett Said About The Upcoming Matchup Against LSU
The Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-0) maintain a pristine record heading into the third week of the 2023 college football season after they squeaked by with a 31-24 overtime victory over the visiting Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.
Up next on the schedule, they will face the No. 14-ranked LSU Tigers (1-1), who come off of a dominant 72-10 win over Grambling State.
Bulldogs head coach Zach Arnett met with the media early in the week to discuss what he saw out of his team in the win over Arizona and what he sees on the horizon going up against LSU.
"We’re excited to get conference play here," Arnett said. "Reviewed the tape, a lot of good things and things we will continue to coach off of."
We need to improve and get better. I thought we had every opportunity to break that game open early and some lack of execution, plays in critical moments, prevented us from really enjoying the success with the intensity they deserved with a larger margin of victory. And that’s nothing against Arizona and the great job they did. That’s on us as coaches for either not having the right play called or not having coached it well enough."
