Mississippi State QB Will Rogers Earns Place In List Of ESPN's Top 100 College Football Players

Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers continues to rack up preseason honors.

It's been another day, another watch list for Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers for several weeks now, and he added to his preseason accolades Thursday.

The Bulldogs signal-caller was among those listed when ESPN released its top college football players ahead of the 2023 season, listed at No. 36 overall.

That put the senior from Brandon, Mississippi directly ahead of LSU junior wide receiver Malik Nabers and just behind Illinois junior defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton.

Quarterbacks ranked above Rogers included Frank Harris (UTSA), KJ Jefferson (Arkansas), Sam Hartman (Notre Dame), Cameron Rising (Utah), Jayden Daniels (LSU), Bo Nix (Oregon), Jordan Travis (Florida State), Michael Penix Jr. (Washington), Drake Maye (North Carolina) and Caleb Williams (USC).

"The most accomplished passer in the SEC, Rogers is already the only quarterback in SEC history with over 1,000 career completions," The ESPN staff wrote of Rogers. "With 32 consecutive starts, he owns school career records for passing yards (10,689) and passing touchdowns (82)."
