Mississippi State Freshman WR Kaydin Pope Enters the Transfer Portal
On Thursday, Mississippi State football redshirt freshman wide receiver Kaydin Pope announced his entrance into the transfer portal.
Last season, Pope appeared in one game catching three passes for 23 yards in a win against East Tennessee State. Pope is from Savannah, Tennessee, and by ESPN was rated a four-star prospect and No. 14 in the State of Tennessee. Pope went to Hardin County High School and lead them to a 10-1 record and to the second round of playoffs as a senior.
Pope is the fifth Bulldog to enter the portal since the end of spring practices and the second receiver to enter since Kevin Barbay was named offensive coordinator in January.
Many are left to wonder if it has to do with Barbay's coaching style. Barbay is implementing a more balanced attack in the offensive compared to Mike Leach's Air Raid.
Mississippi State's football season will start on Sept. 2 at home against Southeastern Louisiana.
