Mississippi State WR Lideatrick 'Tulu' Griffin Named To 2023 Paul Hornung Award Watchlist

Bulldogs wide receiver Lideatrick "Tulu" Griffin was named to the 2023 watch list for the Paul Hornung Award.

Mississippi State wide receiver Lideatrick "Tulu" Griffin was named to the watch list for the 2023 Paul Hornung Award this week, presented annually to the the most versatile player in college football.

Named after former Notre Dame running back Paul Hornung, the award was established to "recognize and reward versatile, high-level performers in major college football" as well as to "help preserve the legacy of one of Louisville’s native sons and sports icons; and to promote Louisville as a great sports town," via the Louisville Sports Commission's website.

The list includes over 50 players from across the nation in college football. Along with Griffin, other players named to the list include Florida running back Trevor Etienne and Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka.

Griffin, a senior from Philadelphia, MS, was named an All-American kick returner by Pro Football Focus (PFF) last season, has has been awarded two preseason All-SEC and one preseason All-America honors as a return specialist and an all-purpose athlete.

During the 2023 season, Griffin posted 613 kickoff return yards as a junior with one return touchdown. He also put up career-highs in receptions (40), receiving yards (502) and receiving touchdowns (4) during the 2023 campaign.

Griffin will return to action when Mississippi State begins the 2023 football season on Sept. 2, when the Bulldogs host Southeastern Louisiana in Starkville at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be aired on SEC Network.
