Mississippi State QB Will Rogers Named To Davey O'Brien Award Watch List
Mississippi State senior quarterback Will Rogers has received no shortage of preseason attention ahead of the fall slate, something that continued into this week.
When the 2023 Davey O'Brien Watch List was released Tuesday, the Bulldogs signal-caller was on it for yet another year. The honor is presented annually to the best college quarterback in the nation.
To be named to the watch list again this year comes as no surprise with the types of numbers Rogers has put up statistically in Mike Leach's Air Raid offense as he prepares to transition into a different scheme, as well as the development he has shown that is evident in the tape.
The native of Brandon, Mississippi, finished out the 2022 season with a 68% completion rate, 3,974 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Over the past three years of his college career, Rogers holds a 70.7% completion percentage with a total of 10,689 passing yards, 82 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.
How he performs in his first year under new head coach Zach Arnett and how he can potentially boost his 2024 NFL Draft stock will be something to watch.
