Mississippi State ticket office currently giving Bulldog football season ticket holders options through uncertainty

Ticket office sent letters to season ticket holders laying out current options.

There are still no guarantees as to what a 2020 Mississippi State football season might look like, if it happens at all. Through the uncertainty though, the MSU ticket office is preparing for "normal operations" currently, according to a letter sent to Bulldog season ticket holders.

Many MSU supporters received letters on Saturday outlining their current options for the 2020 season. Here is a portion of the letter from the State ticket office:

With football season approaching, we continue to prepare for normal operations while making some changes to enhance the safety of fans and staff. One of those changes is that Mississippi State Athletics has announced that all tickets will be mobile this fall. You can go to Hailstate.com/tickets and click on the "Mobile/Digital Tickets" button for more details on how you can receive your tickets.

We also understand that COVID-19 makes this a unique season and want to provide our fans with choices. All season ticket holders have the option to "Opt Out" of the 2020 season and hold their current seat locations and parking location (if applicable) for the 2021 season. You can either take a credit into the 2021 season, get a refund of payments made or convert ticket payments into a charitable gift to the Bulldog Club.

The letter then allows fans to choose their preferred option. They can keep their 2020 season tickets with either mobile-phone delivery or print-at-home delivery. Or they can choose one of the three Opt-Out options that either credits money paid toward 2021 tickets, provides a refund or gives money paid for 2020 to the Bulldog Club.

Of course, in the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's certainly possible things could change. It does appear though that MSU is doing all it can to accommodate its fans by giving them multiple choices through this unprecedented period. It's unclear how the ticket office's plans might change if the dynamics of the 2020 season are altered.

Mississippi State athletic director John Cohen indicated in a Friday interview that he wants as many fans in Davis Wade Stadium as is safely possible (READ MORE FROM THAT INTERVIEW BY CLICKING HERE).

"Do you push the season back just in order to have more people in the stands? That is an issue that’s being wrested with at many levels right now as well," Cohen said.

However the ultimate decision on fan attendance at MSU football games this fall goes much further than just Cohen's opinion. State and local government officials and more will play a part in the final call.
