Missouri will play baseball sooner than it thought. But not just that, the Tigers will also be playing more games than they thought on the first day of their season, too.

The first two games of their series have now been rescheduled. Missouri was set to start the season at 6 p.m. CT against Cal Poly on Friday, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. It would have been the first of a four-game series to start the 2024 campaign, but the game has been moved up to start at 4 p.m. due to expected inclement weather this weekend in the area.

The second game of the season will be a part of a doubleheader and first pitch for that game is at 8 p.m. Friday. As of now, the other two games in the series are scheduled to be played at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. But the dates and times for the games may change with the weather. The Tigers were originally supposed to play on Monday at 3 p.m., but there’s no longer a game scheduled to be played on Monday.

Missouri will hope to start the season strong and get not just one, but two opening day wins thanks to the rescheduled doubleheader. The Tigers have only faced Cal Poly one other time and it was back in 2011 at a neutral site, where they came away with the win.
