The Missouri men's basketball team ended their up-and-down nonconference play on a strong note after decimating Central Arkansas 92-59 on Dec. 30, 2023. However, the start of 2024/SEC play hasn't been kind to the Tigers as they fell to Georgia and No. 6 Kentucky.

Missouri's momentum may have deteriorated a bit over the past few days, but so has its next opponent in South Carolina. The Gamecocks were on a six-game win streak before Alabama crushed them 74-47.

Nevertheless, Missouri's top priority is to achieve its first victory in SEC play on Saturday. That said, the Tigers will have some help from a home crowd.

What: South Carolina Gamecocks (13-2, 1-1 SEC) at Missouri (8-7, 0-2 SEC)

Series: Missouri leads 9-7 with the first meeting occurring on Jan. 22, 2013.

Last meeting: The Tigers outlasted the Gamecocks 83-74 on Feb. 27, 2023. Kobe Brown led Missouri with 19 points, but Sean East II, Nick Honor and D'Moi Hodge also finished with double figures.

Last time out, South Carolina: The Gamecocks ended their six-game win streak with a 74-47 loss to Alabama. That point total is South Carolina's lowest of the season, as it was 18 points less than their previous worst outing.

Last time out, Missouri: The Tigers fell to No. 6 Kentucky 90-77. Besides Noah Carter, Tamar Bates and Sean East II, who scored a combined 57 points, shooting was one of Missouri's main issues.
