Darris Smith, a 4-star linebacker coming out of high school, has officially transferred to Missouri. Smith was the consensus No. 146 recruit in the country and No. 14 at his position.

Smith recorded nine tackles in his two-year stint with the Bulldogs. Five of those came this past season. Smith only appeared in five games this season, whereas he played in 11 the season prior. The majority of Smith's snaps as a Bulldog came on special teams and in late-game situations.

Smith is an athletic freak, standing at 6-5, 240 pounds. He did not get much playing time throughout his time as a Bulldog, but his athleticism at the position could earn him playing time for the Tigers.

According to On3, Smith is the No. 7 linebacker available in the transfer portal. He is the No. 108 player overall as well.

Smith visited Columbia days ago and the buzz instantly shifted in Missouri's favor. Smith did not visit anywhere else, which gave the Tigers instant momentum.

The commitment of Smith boosts the Tigers' ranking in the transfer portal. According to updated On3 rankings, Missouri has the No. 9 transfer portal class in the country. Smith is the second defensive transfer into the team.

Smith joins a portal class featuring Clemson transfer Toriano Pride Jr, Georgia State running back Marcus Carroll and the most recent transfer, Oklahoma offensive lineman Cayden Green.

The transfer portal seems to be a ticking time bomb for the Tigers, with the chance that players could join the team at any given moment. The offseason additions may not be done for Missouri football.
