Missouri Football Adds Florida Transfer Chris McClellan

Missouri added its seventh player through the transfer portal this offseason with the former Florida Gator.

The Tigers continue to stock up big-name transfers with the addition of Chris McClellan. McClellan is a 6-3, 320 pound defensive tackle from the state of Oklahoma.

Missouri secured the commitment from McClellan over the likes of Colorado and, his close-to-home school, Oklahoma.

McClellan is a big presence in the middle of the field, as he secured 23 tackles and 0.5 sacks this season. The season prior he made 23 tackles as well as 1.5 sacks. The big man only started one game in his career as a Gator, but has appeared in every game they have played over his time with them.

Out of high school, the Florida commit was a consensus 4-star prospect in the class of 2022, ranked No. 113 in the country and No. 19 at his position. According to On3 transfer portal rankings, McClellan is the No. 355 transfer in the nation and the No. 24 defensive lineman.

The Tigers now have seven transfers in, including Murray State punter Orion Phillips. McClellan is the fourth defensive transfer and first on the defensive line. The Tigers have two incoming defensive tackle recruits in Jaylen Brown and Justin Bodford, as well as potentially returning senior Kristian Williams. There certainly could be playing time available at the position.

Players are flying off the board and the list of top available transfers are dwindling down. A recent entry, former Bowling Green linebacker Cashius Howell, may peak the interest of the Tigers as he is a Kansas City native. That being said, players are still hitting the portal as we speak and a future Missouri Tiger could be anywhere.
