Missouri Football Adds Top Transfer Portal Running Back
The tigers grabbed one of the nation's leading rushers out of the transfer portal with the commitment of Marcus Carroll.
It has been no secret that the Tigers were looking for the successor at the running back spot after the departures of seniors Cody Schrader and Nathaniel Peat, and it looks as if head coach Eli Drinkwitz has found his guy.
Schrader made a huge impact for the Tigers this season, and filling his role will be no easy challenge. Both backs had similar statistical seasons however, so Carroll may be the right man to fill Schrader's shoes.
Carroll, a 5-10 210 pound senior, was the No. 7 leading rusher in all of college football this past season. He ran for 1,350 yards and 13 touchdowns on 274 carries. In the receiving game, he had 234 yards on 23 receptions.
According to multiple recruiting services, Carroll is a top 150 transfer as well as a top ten running back in this year's transfer portal class. As a recruit out of high school in 2020, the Georgia State commit was a composite 3-star.
Carroll recorded multiple accolades this past season as he was named a Doak Walker Award semifinalist. Carroll was also named an all Sun Belt first team running back. He is also one Georgia State's all time-leading rushers.
