'Put it on Film!' Former NFL Player C.L. Shepherd Motivates Missouri Ahead of Georgia Game
The No. 16 Missouri Tigers are enjoying their open week after achieving their best start (7-1) since 2013, but it won't be long before No. 1 Georgia is solely on their minds.
To help get his team motivated for their biggest game of the season, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz brought in former NFL player (and now athlete mentor) C.L. βShepβ Shepherd.
Missouri's film study of Georgia will only increase over the next week, but Shepherd focused on what the Tigers need to bring to their individual tapes to show other teams who they are and what their future beholds.
"If you're special, elite, a game changer, difference maker, deserve to be playing on Sundays, make all-conference and show you're a championship squad, put it on film!" Shepherd said."
Shepherd explained that the main way the Tigers will get recognized by NFL teams is through their tape, stating that "you are what your film says you are." Taking down Georgia means that their film needs to be as good as it's ever been, and it's not just from kickoff to the final whistle.
"If you're special, you have to put it on film," Shepherd said. "Not just game film, but also practice and walk-through footage. If you don't live it, you don't believe it. How you do anything is how you do everything."
Drinkwitz briefly previewed the Nov. 4 matchup in Athens during Wednesday's SEC teleconference, and listed reasons why the reigning back-to-back national champions have been "the same since I've been here."
"They're a talented team with elite coaches and players," Drinkwitz said. "They believe in their scheme, they don't beat themselves and they play physical and tough. Coach Smart has done an excellent job throughout the program and they're a really good football team."
