Whats Next? A Look Into the Rest of Missouri Football's Offseason
If your a Missouri Football fan, the last couple days have been full of excitement. From all 20 commits signing on signing day to the recent defensive additions of Darris Smith and Corey Flagg Jr, the Tigers have been busy. But what is next when it comes to future additions?
When it comes to transfers, the next name up is sophomore Chris McClellan. The Florida defensive lineman totaled 23 tackles this season, as well as 1.5 sacks. He recovered one fumble for the Gators this season.
McClellan is from Tulsa, Okla, so the Oklahoma Sooners were one of the first teams to get involved in his recruitment. Colorado has also been involved, but the Tigers may be in the drivers sweet. He could announce his commitment in the next coming days.
A few portal targets remain for the Tigers, including Appalachian State running back Nate Noel and Michigan State defensive lineman Zion Young. The portal is constantly changing and new players may enter at any point.
There are two main high school targets for the 2024 class, both in which the Tigers are believed to be favorites. Composite 4-star defensive back Trajen Greco has predictions to come to Columbia, but he did not commit or sign on Signing Day. Greco will announce his commitment on Jan. 6 at the All-American Bowl.
Composite 4-star running back J'Marion Burnette also received multiple predictions to commit to Missouri, but the addition of 4-star back Kewan Lacy may have thrown a wrench in Burnette's commitment. The Tigers did lose standout Cody Schrader as well as backup Nate Peat, so there are running back spots available.
A few 3-star uncommitted prospects remain in the sights of the Tigers. Local 3-star receiver David Dossett and 3-star athlete Brandon Heyward are possible late targets, but that isn't set in stone.
In college football today, pieces are constantly moving when it comes to player movement. Things change quickly and anything can happen, so who's to say how the rest of this offseason will turn out. Do not be surprised if the Tigers close out this offseason with multiple more additions.
