Missouri came off a two dual losing streak ahead of the match up at North Dakota State University (NDSU). The Tigers had an almost two-week break to recover before facing off with the Bisons and held control throughout the entire dual.

According to the NCAA Wrestling Coaches Poll, Missouri had nine ranked wrestlers heading into Friday's matchup.

No. 8 redshirt junior Noah Surtin (125) dominated the mat against NDSU senior Ryan Henningson. Surtin began the match with a takedown and two near falls, putting him up 10-4 heading into the second period.

Throughout the rest of the match, Surtin kept moving, looking for ways to attack Henningson. In the second period, he got a takedown and near fall to secure his lead going into the third period. He defeated Henningson by a major decision, 20-8.

At 133 pounds, freshman Drew Stanfield had his first career dual start for the Tigers. Stanfield attacked from the beginning and got a near fall in the first period, almost resulting in a pin for the freshman. Stanfield defeated NDSU.redshirt freshman Fernando Barreto 12-5 to keep the momentum going for the Tigers.

Following Stanfield, No. 24 redshirt sophomore Josh Edmond (141) ended his four-match losing streak after defeating No. 27 NDSU redshirt freshman Gavin Drexler, 15-2.

NDSU redshirt freshman Max Petersen (149) defeated Missouri redshirt sophomore Joel Mylin 4-2 for NDSU's first win of the night.

Following Mylin, No. 13 redshirt senior Brock Mauller (157) defeated NDSU freshman Boeden Greenley 2-0 in an even-paced matchup. Mauller's years of experience showed on the mat as he held on to ensure his win against Greenley.

After intermission, No. 1 junior Keegan O'Toole (165) defeated NDSU redshirt freshman Brendan Howes by pin early in the third period. O'Toole was able to toggle between offense and defense throughout the match.

At 174 pounds, No. 10 redshirt senior Peyton Mocco attacked early against NDSU sophomore Mason Gode to lead 6-1 heading into the second. At the end of the second, Mocco had almost three minutes of riding time to his advantage. He defeated Gode by a major decision, 17-3.

Following Mocco, No. 14 redshirt freshman Clayton Whiting (184) dominated NDSU freshman Adam Cherne 20-3. Redshirt sophomore Jesse Cassatt fell to NDSU sophomore Spencer Mooberry 1-5.

To close out for the Tigers, No. 5 redshirt senior Zach Elam (285) pulled out a win against NDSU junior Devon Dawson. The match up began with Dawson picking Z. Elam up and slamming him back down for the takedown points. However, Z. Elam bounced back to get a near fall and held onto the lead for the rest of the match. Z. Elam defeated Dawson 9-4.

The Tigers continue to excel against their opponents on offense and defense. At the beginning of the season, wrestlers and coaches mentioned they wanted to keep working on that. In the match up against NDSU, the Tigers were able to stay in the center of the mat to keep the movement going throughout the duals. Up Next
