Ingram named ACC Defensive Back of the Week

The junior cornerback had nine tackles, two pass breakups and the clinching interception against Ball State on Saturday

Chris Ingram is the first NC State player this season to earn ACC Player of the Week recognition.

The junior cornerback was named as the league's Defensive Back of the Week on Monday after a standout performance in Saturday's 34-23 win against Ball State. 

Ingram played a career-high 89 snaps against the Cardinals, making a personal-best nine tackles, all solo hits. He also broke up two passes and intercepted a pass in the end zone off the rebound of a breakup by teammate C.J. Hart to clinch the victory.

For the season, Ingram ranks second on the Wolfpack with 24 tackles. His two interceptions are tops on the team while his three pass breakups are tied for the team lead.

Dillon (co-Running back), Florida State's Cam Akers (co-Running back), Syracuse's Trishon Jackson (Receiver), Pitt's Bryce Hargrove (Offensive Lineman), Florida State's Marvin Wilson (Defensive Lineman), Virginia's Charles Snowden (Linebacker), Pitt's Aaron Mathews (Specialist) and Miami's Jarren Williams (Rookie).
