TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Graduate defensive tackle Larrell Murchison had one of the best games of his NC State career on Satuday, recording 3.5 of his team's eight sacks on Florida State's Alex Hornibrook and three other tackles and two quarterback hurries.

He was also part of a defensive front that helped keep star Seminoles running back Cam Akers in check until one game-breaking fourth quarter run.

Despite his outstanding individual effort, it still wasn't enough as the Wolfpack defense was burned for several damaging big plays while allowing 316 passing yards in a 31-13 loss at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Here's what Murchison had to say afterwards ...

"It’s just small things that we try to work on during the week in practice. We always watch film from last game and realize that we can get better. I feel like that’s what we did, so we’ve just got to keep getting better each week."

"It's very frustrating, any loss is frustrating. I’m just going to continue to do my best to build on it every week and help prepare so we can get wins."

"A loss is a loss, that’s how I feel right now. A loss is a loss. We’ve just got to get the job done, that’s point blank period. We’ve just got to get the job done, we’ve got to win."

Murchison was also asked if the eight sacks were the result of a more aggressive game plan ...

"Every call is designed to get pressure, an interception, anything. We make plays on defense. We were just being aggressive, I’d say that. You could say we were being aggressive tonight. We wanted to win this one."

"There’s always positives in a loss, there’s lessons. We’re going to look at this film and we’re going to take the stuff off film that we need to and we’re going to be better."

On Cam Akers' 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter ...

"We’ve got to make that play as a defense. That’s what I say about that, we’ve got to make that play."
