#Pack9 Pros: NC State Alums Brace For Important Series
There are currently 24 NC State alums playing baseball professionally. Read below to see how NC State's baseball alumni are faring in the pros.
NC State currently has three players on Major League rosters (alphabetical order).
Andrew Knizner: St. Louis Cardinals: .222 average, 2 HR, 22 RBI
After a horrid start to the season, Knizner is batting .381 with a homer and three runs batted in over his last seven games. St. Louis is also hot, with wins in 13 of its last 16 contests. The Cardinals are in first place in the National League Central with a six-game lead over Milwaukee.
Carlos Rodón: San Francisco Giants: 12-7 3.03 ERA, 151.1 IP, 191 K, 26 games (26 starts)
Despite losing to San Diego on Monday, Rodón currently is second in the National League and third overall in the Majors with 191 strikeouts. In his next scheduled start, the lefty could pass 200 batters fanned for the first time in his professional career.
Trea Turner: Los Angeles Dodgers: .305 average, 18 HR, 83 RBI, 20 SB
The Dodgers have blown the National League West wide open. Turner, who was a member of the 2019 Washington Nationals team that won the World Series, will get another shot at a ring in October. Los Angeles, which enters Tuesday at 51 games over .500, is set to begin a three-game set in Flushing, New York, against the New York Mets in what could be a playoff preview.
NC State currently has 21 players on Minor League rosters.
