A Day 3 shutout for the Huskers in the NFL draft was averted Saturday when the Green Bay Packers selected Nebraska wide receiver Samori Touré late in the final round.

Touré went to the Packers with the draft's 258th pick out of 262. On Friday night, two of his teammates, center Cam Jurgens and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, were drafted in the second round. After that, 198 players were chosen over the course of more than five full rounds before Touré became the third Husker selected.

Touré played one season in Lincoln after transferring from FCS school Montana, and he made the most of it. He led Nebraska with 46 receptions, 898 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. He tied the school season record with five 100-yard receiving games while averaging 19.5 yards per catch. His yardage total placed him in a sixth-place tie on NU's single-season receiving yardage list. (Full bio here.)

Free-agent deals

Probably the most surprising non-pick among draft-eligible Huskers was JoJo Domann, who earned second-team Associated Press All-America honors in 2021 as a nickel/outside linebacker. Shortly after the draft ended, he signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Also landing free-agent deals were tight end Austin Allen (New York Giants), defensive back Deontai Williams (Seattle Seahawks), and defensive linemen Damion Daniels (Houston Texans) and Ben Stille (Miami Dolphins).
