Omar Manning Returns to Outside Receiver Spot

Mickey Joseph discusses Zavier Betts’ status and more after final practice before spring game

With Zavier Betts' departure, Omar Manning has moved back to the X receiver spot on the outside after spending much of the spring as a slot receiver.

"We think his natural position is going to be X," position coach Mickey Joseph said after Wednesday's Nebraska football practice, "but the best thing about it is he proved he can learn two positions. So he learned R and then he went to X, and he's been fine."

As for Betts' status, Joseph said: "He's not on the team right now, but we visit with Zavier. ... It's going to be [Scott] Frost’s decision about what he wants to do with him."

Wednesday morning's practice was the 14th of spring and the final one before Saturday's spring game (1 p.m. Central, BTN). Much more from the post-practice media availability is in the links below.
