Progress Seen in Jeff Sims’ Passing Accuracy
Quarterback Jeff Sims has progressed "every single day" as a passer since fall camp began, Nebraska football offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said Tuesday.
"He had a goal. He wanted to take care of the football. He wanted to raise his completion percentage," Satterfield said. "The first four or five days, the completion percentage wasn't as good as we wanted," but "he just chipped away at it, and by the end of camp it's around where we want it to be" — around 65 percent.
Sims' ball-security numbers from his time at Georgia Tech are less than stellar, but Satterfield said Sims has done "a really nice job of taking care of the football" during practices in Lincoln.
