Carriker Chronicles: Malachi Coleman on Husker Football and So Much More

The wide receiver discusses his path from homelessness to adoption, his charitable work, the Huskers' QBs and the new wideouts from the portal
In this story:

This interview with Malachi hits close to home with Adam, as his mom was also adopted. First, Malachi talks Husker football, starting with his welcome-to-the-Big Ten moment. Also, WRs coach Garret McGuire, Matt Rhule's message to the team this offseason, Nebraska's three QBs (Raiola, Kaelin & Haarberg), transfer portal additions at WR and what Husker football is capable of this year.

Then they discuss Malachi going from being homeless, to foster care, to being adopted by his parents. This interview took place exactly nine years after Malachi and his sister (Nevaeh) came to know their parents, Craig and Miranda Coleman. As you may know, Malachi has chosen to donate all of his NIL money to kids in foster care. "I want foster kids to know they have hope" he said. All of the proceeds Malachi receives from his book, "Fly Like Chi," will be donated as well. Tom Osborne wrote the foreword for the book and also signed 100 of the books for charity/donation.

Let's just say there's a story (you'll hear) about when the Coleman family found out Coach Osborne wanted to be involved. Matt Rhule even signed the ping pong page of a book. Malachi says Rhule is "stupid good" at ping pong. Learn more about the Nebraska football program and Malachi himself and support a great cause by purchasing a book if you'd like.
