Carriker Chronicles: Tony White on Coaching Up Nebraska’s ‘D’

The Huskers’ first-year defensive coordinator discusses a young D-line, improving the pass rush and a instilling mentality of physicality

In this episode of the Carriker Chronicles (AKA "The People's Show"), Nebraska's new defensive coordinator and the master of the 3-3-5 defense, Tony White, joins Adam to answer the tough questions. Tony talks about how the Huskers are truly practicing differently (actually, a different way than Tony's ever seen). Coach White talks about daily tackling circuits and LIVE tackling in practice. Also, how Tony will attempt to speed up the learning process for Nebraska's inexperienced defensive line.

In addition, Coach White addresses improving the Huskers pass rush and talks about a mentality of physicality. He has some great statements such as, "We're going to be physical" and "You ain't playing defense if you can't tackle!" Of course, the new leader of the Blackshirts ends the interview with an emphatic "Throw them bones, let's GO!"
