A win-now attitude was the order of the day Tuesday during Nebraska's turn at the microphones at Big Ten Football Media Days in Indianapolis.

"It's our time to do it," said head coach Scott Frost, who has a 15-29 record entering his fifth season at the helm in Lincoln. His teams have never finished better than fifth in the seven-team Big Ten West Division.

Frost said the Aug. 27 opener against Northwestern in Ireland is not being treated as a plum. "We didn't earn this trip," he said. "This is a business trip."

Linebacker Garrett Nelson has grown tired of the disrespect. "It's time to play," he said.

Frost said the quarterback spot remains up for grabs, but Texas transfer Casey Thompson will take the first snaps with the No. 1 offense when fall camp opens Wednesday morning. Frost said it "makes me a little sad" to give up play-calling duties, but he will remain "involved a lot" with the offense in collaboration with new coordinator Mark Whipple.
