Milt Tenopir was a class act.

I was lucky enough to spend a little time with him over the last few years of his life. I almost feel like I could call him a friend, he made you feel that way. Milt was genuine and that's all it takes sometime.

I had the opportunity to talk to him about his long, storied career at Nebraska. You don't see too many of those nowadays with coaches being turned over every few years for not winning nattys immediately.

He was almost poetic in tone. It was interesting to see his calm demeanor and innate loyalty to the university, his fellow coaches and even more so his players. They were family. Sometimes I feel that's what's missing today, but on the other hand, it's easy to behave like a family when you're winning.

But I digress.

I'll have more videos of Milt coming at later dates but I urge to watch him speak. He's much more kind than his tough exterior lets on. Uncle Milt was introspective and thoughtful with his words - something we could all use a little more of.

Watch the video at the top of the page and keep an eye out for new videos every week. Milt opens up about all kinds of things, many of which I feel you could only hear about while he has a Busch Light with you in his back yard.
