Coach Scott Frost said Monday that Nebraska wasn't expecting an even defensive front from Illinois, and “about half of our game plan was out the window when they lined up how they did.”

"But, hey, we got to be better," Frost said. "We have to establish the run. We have to be ahead in the game so we can commit to the run."

Frost and several players spoke after Monday's practice, two days after the 30-22 loss in Champaign.

“I hope nobody lost excitement after Saturday. This team has a chance to be really good,” Frost said. “If there’s still some tickets out there, buy them up and come watch this team.”

Quarterback Adrian Martinez said the Huskers "are going to get this right, so stick with us. We are going to play our tails off every week."
