Huskers Ready for Fast-Paced Eagles and Possible Rainfall

Scott Frost discusses Nebraska’s preparations for Georgia Southern
In this story:

Saturday night's forecast calls for rain showers in Lincoln, and Nebraska coach Scott Frost says his Huskers need to be ready to adjust if necessary.

"Hopefully that doesn't change anything," Frost said after Thursday's Husker football practice. "We've got to handle it if it turns into the type of game where we have to run the ball to win, and hopefully we're equipped for that."

Nebraska faces Georgia Southern in Saturday's game, which has a 6:30 p.m. start.

"Our guys are used to dealing with tempo, but they go fast," Frost said of the Eagles' offense. "So we've got to be ready for whatever they throw at us. We have to hurry up and get set and make sure we're ready for the next snap."

As for Nebraska's ramped-up 1s-vs.-1s work in practice this week, Frost said: "It went OK. It was a good start."

On defense, he said, the Huskers have been "a half-step away from a number of plays. And sometimes when you're practicing against scouts you can can get there without being quite at full speed. Hopefully against our 1s they need to be a step closer to plays in order to make them. We'll see if that helps."
