In this story:

Nebraska football's home sellout streak will survive at least another week. All tickets to Saturday's game in Lincoln against the Illinois Fighting Illini have been sold.

A week ago, about 120 seats for the Illinois game remained available on the Nebraska Athletics ticket site. Over the ensuing days, the number steadily dropped, and by Tuesday evening it was down to 37. Then, on Wednesday morning, voila! The game was listed as sold out.

From 37 to zero overnight? While a sudden surge in general ticket buying might have happened with a top-20 opponent coming to town, one can't help but suspect that someone swooped in and bought three dozen or so tickets to secure sellout status.

Of course, that doesn't mean you're out of luck if you want to be inside Memorial Stadium for Saturday's 2:30 p.m. CDT kickoff. Seats for less than $40 are not difficult to find on the resale market.

As for Nebraska's two other remaining 2022 home games, the number of unsold tickets has been whittled down over the past week. A look at the figures:

Minnesota, Nov. 5
• Wed. p.m.: 147
• A week ago: ~198

Wisconsin, Nov. 19
• Wed. p.m.: 60
• A week ago: ~268

The Wisconsin game appears to be a lock for sold-out status after more than 150 tickets were sold in the past 24 hours — another burst of activity that might not be entirely organic. The Minnesota game ten days from now is shaping up as more of a down-to-the-wire situation.

The game against Illinois will be the Huskers' 387th consecutive home sellout, an NCAA-record streak that began in November 1962 during Bob Devaney's first season as head coach.

The Huskers have posted a 317-69 record at home during the sellout streak. On Saturday, they will try to make it 318-69 while going for their first win over an Associated Press-ranked opponent, home or away, in a little over six years.
