There’s a New Contender at Nickel

Chris Kolarevic joins the fray to fill JoJo Domann’s shoes

Chris Kolarevic has moved from middle linebacker this spring to join the competition at nickel.

Nebraska football defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said after Monday's practice that he likes what he has seen so far from the senior, who joined the Huskers last season as a graduate transfer from Northern Iowa.

Kolarevic is vying for the spot vacated by second-team AP All-American JoJo Domann. Other contenders include Isaac Gifford and Javin Wright.

"I feel really comfortable with it," Kolarevic said of the additional pass-coverage duties that come with the position.
