The Husker Heisman Huddle With Johnny Rodgers and Eric Crouch
Spring football is here. For many seasons, spring has marked the ultimate time of year to be a Nebraska football fan. Winter conditioning gives way to spring practice as the disappointments and despair of the past season are washed away by the bountiful, ever flowing Kool-aid. Husker fans drink the stuff like water, becoming more and more intoxicated on the promise of success and change within the program for the upcoming season with each optimistic sip. The Kool-aid flavor every Cornhusker is mainlining this spring? Rhule-aid.
With the first spring practice on Monday, the Matt Rhule era of Cornhusker football has officially begun. Optimism is at its peak, with words like “accountability” and “coachability” on the tip of the head coach’s tongue during his press conference after the first practice. In terms of football however, many on the field questions remain for the Huskers. How will special teams improve under Matt Rhule and special teams coach Ed Foley? Will Donovan Raiola in his second year be able to deliver the kind of offensive line that can block for 75 rushing yards in the 4th quarter as coach Rhule desires? How will the Huskers build on the momentum they generated towards the end of last season that culminated in a win over Iowa for the first time in 8 years? Wonder what a couple Husker Heisman trophy winners think?
Tune in to the Husker Heisman Huddle as Heisman Trophy winners Eric Crouch and Johnny “the Jet” Rodgers break down all the news and excitement of spring football each Tuesday alongside fellow host Sam Casaccio.
