Two Days Before Kickoff, Huskers’ Starter at Quarterback Remains Up in the Air
The question of who will start at quarterback Saturday night for Nebraska remained unanswered Thursday.
Jeff Sims is "progressing" with his injured ankle, but "I'm not sure what Jeff's status will be for the game," head coach Matt Rhule said after Thursday morning's walk-through practice.
"Friday will be a full practice day," Rhule said. "I know he feels like he's getting better. He's moving around and stuff, so we'll see how he does tomorrow."
If Sim's can't play, Heinrich Haarberg appears set for his first start as a Husker when Nebraska hosts Northern Illinois at 6 p.m. Saturday. Chubba Purdy is the Huskers' other primary option at the position.
Rhule touched on a number of other topics Thursday, including the challenges of rebounding from an 0-2 start and the advantages of finally playing in front of a home crowd.
