Bryson Hayes Details Decision to Commit to Nebraska
It’s not every day that a program lands a commitment. That just happened to be the case Sunday for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Bryson Hayes was the athlete who pulled the trigger with Nebraska.
Hayes is a wide receiver from Maize High School in Maize, Kansas. He has a 6-foot, 180-pound frame and committed to the Cornhuskers over the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks and others.
Hayes becomes the fifth commit in Nebraska's 2025 recruiting class. He joins Tyson Terry, Conor Booth, Jackson Carpenter and Caden VerMaas. He is the first out-of-state prospect to commit to this class.
He spoke with HuskerMax about his decision.
Hayes said he realized he wanted to be a Husker after his visit a couple of weeks ago. He was able “to watch practice and see how they run things.”
“I chose Nebraska for multiple reasons,” Hayes stated. “A defining moment was seeing how they develop players at practice.”
He mentioned coach Garret McGuire as being influential. “Coach G the receiver coach helped me make my decision.”
Hayes plans to make a return visit for the April 27th spring game. Once he actually becomes a Husker, he said, “I plan to bring my all to the Husker football program to bring W's to Lincoln!”
It’s always important to note whether a prospect's recruitment shuts down the moment he commits or if he continues to seek other options despite filling up a commitment spot.
“My commitment is closed,” Hayes said.
