Corey Simms is a talented wideout who will be a senior this fall at Christian Brothers College High School In St. Louis, Missouri. He measures in at around 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds.

He released his top schools Monday.

Nebraska made the list, and Simms is already tied to the school. His father was a basketball player for the Huskers two decades ago. Simms has spoken highly about the Huskers in the past. Below are his thoughts about each team on his list.

Missouri: “Mizzou was the very first school to offer me. Mizzou is the home team and has always remained in contact with me and my parents. Mizzou also showed me exactly how and where I would fit into their program. Mizzou is losing all of their key receivers after this upcoming season. That would allow me an opportunity to play early as I continue to work hard. Mizzou had a great season last year and has a great opportunity to repeat that during the next football season.”

Arkansas: “I enjoyed my visit to Arkansas and I really enjoyed the facilities. The new WR coach (Ronnie Fouch) keeps in contact with me and reaches out daily. Coach Fouch talks to me about being part of the program and how he would use me.”

Miami: “Miami physically came up to my school to offer me. Coach (Kevin) Beard keeps in contact with me and we have built a pretty strong relationship. Miami is one of those programs anyone would love to play for based on their history. As Miami continues to build its program, I could see myself being a part of it all.”

Georgia: “Georgia Bulldogs!!!! One of the top teams in the nation that is also well-coached. Coach (James) Coley offered me at South Carolina. Soon after his move to Georgia, he continued to recruit me. Georgia is one of those programs that anybody would love to play for. Georgia developed a lot of men who transitioned to the next level and who are currently playing on Sundays. I could see myself fitting into this program perfectly.”

LSU: “LSU is probably WRU! Who wouldn’t want to play in that type of atmosphere and be coached by one of the best (Cortez Hankton) WR coaches? LSU produces so many WRs who currently play on Sundays.”

USC: “USC physically came into town to offer me. USC has been in continuous contact with me. I visited campus, and the climate and culture were just right. I met Coach (Lincoln) Riley and Coach (Dennis) Simmons during my visit. I had an opportunity to have great conversations with them both regarding where and how I would fit into the program. I communicate with the WR coach almost daily and have built a pretty strong relationship. I have also been paying attention to USC’s recruitment. Coach Simmons and Riley have begun to build relationships with my parents as well. USC has picked up several good players. USC has a core of athletes who will soon be playing at the next level. This will allow me an opportunity to come in and learn while also supporting my development and skillset.”

Tennessee: “The Tennessee Vols have a great football program. My family and I had a chance to meet Coach (Josh) Heupel. He expressed lots of interest regarding how he would love me to be a part of his football program. The Vols has a great atmosphere and lots of schools and community spirit. I would love to play in front of that loud explosive crowd.”

Kansas: “I had a visit to Kansas and really enjoyed my time there. I also enjoyed conversing with Coach (Terrence) Samuel. I’m looking forward to visiting again. Kansas is a top school because I think coach Samuel is a great coach and would help support my development as a player.”

Penn State: “I absolutely loved my visit to Penn State. Penn State has everything I would need to excel, on and off the field. Penn State keeps in contact and they make me feel like a priority. Penn State does a great job of developing their players. I think their players are well-coached. I really like the structure Coach (James) Franklin provides. It reminds me a lot of my current head football coach. Penn State was very welcoming and reminded me of home.”

Michigan: “Michigan has a great football program. Coach (Ronald) Bellamy always keeps in contact with me, and we have built a great relationship. Coach Bellamy talks about how and what they would use me for. Michigan is definitely a top team and I am looking forward to visiting soon. I am familiar with WR Fredro Moore who is a St. Louis native. Michigan recently won the national college championship and has always had a great tradition that anybody would want to be a part of.”

Ole Miss: “Ole Miss is a great well-coached team. I haven’t visited yet. However, I have watched a few games this year and I could imagine myself in their offense. I loved seeing how much they pass the ball in their offense. Ole Miss has also produced several great WRs who currently play in the NFL.”

Nebraska: “Nebraska brought the entire coaching staff to my school during the recruiting process. My parents and I had a chance to converse with head coach Matt Rhule and WR coach (Garret) McGuire. They continue to make me feel like a priority by expressing continuous interest and remaining in contact regularly.”
