Who's That Wildcat: DL Najee Story
DL Najee Story
Height: 6'4" Weight: 250 lbs
Hometown: Solon, OH
High school: Solon High School
Power Five Offers: Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan State, Michigan, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Duke, Maryland, Louisville, Boston College, Minnesota
Evaluation: Standing at six feet and four inches tall, weighing 250 pounds, Najee Story has the size and build to battle in the grueling trenches of Big Ten football. A highly touted prospect out of Solon, Ohio, Story was sought after top programs around the country such as Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State, but ultimately chose to head to Evanston.
Story's big frame allows him to shed blocks with relative ease and combine that with a high motor, Story always seems to be finding himself around the ball, wreaking havoc on the edge and in the backfield. However, don't let Story's size fool you into thinking he is just a bruiser who overwhelms his opponents with pure strength. Story is by no means a one tricky pony, but rather a unicorn. Najee Story is an athlete, period. His quick feet, explosive get off and overall athleticism will only make Story that much more of a nightmare for offensive coordinators in the very near future.
Projected Playing Time: Northwestern's defense will see a lot of turnover and new faces when they take the field this fall, including on the defensive line. The Wildcats have a talented (and crowded) defensive line room in 2021 which will make it hard for Story to see consistent playing time in his first year. However with new defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil taking the reins on defense, Story will have the opportunity to impress Coach O'Neil and make a good first impression.
