OL Jackson Carsello

Height: 6'4" Weight: 270 lbs

Hometown: Northbrook, IL

High school: Glenbrook North High School

Power Five Offers: Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Syracuse

Evaluation: Coach Fitzgerald and his staff didn't have to travel far to find their next stud at tackle. Jackson Carsello comes from the North Shore suburb of Northbrook, just a short drive up from Evanston. Carsello is a big, strong athlete who loves to get physical. Turning on the tape, the thing that pops out the most is the way Carsello finishes plays. He routinely takes defensive linemen and linebackers and drives them back five, ten, fifteen yards and plants them in the dirt. Carsello plays with a mean streak and has bad intentions once he gets his hands on whoever is across from him.

Another strength in Carsello's game is his ability to block well in space. Whether it is a screen, end around, or anything else coming his way on the outside, Carsello will find a body to block. His ability to quickly get out of his stance and flip his hips to get to the outside is very impressive. A lot of offensive lineman feel uncomfortable when they have to work in space and get upfield. Carsello is not one of those offensive lineman.

Projected Playing Time: Carsello has the talent to eventually anchor down the end of the offensive line. They keyword being 'eventually'. It will be hard for Carsello to see playing time this season, as the Wildcat's offensive line returns a handful of experienced upper classmen. While a redshirt season is most likely the case, Carsello can use this upcoming season and year to put on more weight and increase his strength as he looks to battle in the trenches of the Big Ten for many years to come.
