Four-Star OT Fisher Anderson to Commit by the End of July
After visiting four schools in three time zones for four consecutive weekends, offensive tackle prospect Fisher Anderson is excited to be home.
“I’ve been out of the house basically for the past two months,” Anderson said. “So [the last few days] have been really an opportunity to stay home. I haven’t really slept in my bed for consecutive days in six or seven weeks, so it’s been nice to sleep in.”
The 6-foot-7, 270-pound four-star prospect is taking a much needed break at home during the recruiting dead period as he makes his final decision before school and the football season start in mid-August.
“I don’t have anything verbal yet, anything said or written down,” Anderson said. “But I’m feeling pretty confident on the inside. I do think there will be a public decision later in the month.”
It is clear that academics are important to Anderson, as his final four schools are North Carolina, Northwestern, Stanford and Virginia. While he is obviously interested in recent program success, that is not the be-all-end-all.
“Another factor I really care about is the history of the program,” Anderson said. “So not only what they’ve done this year or last year, but what they’re known to do.”
When it comes to Northwestern, Anderson was thrilled that the coaching staff seems very stable.
“In terms of Northwestern, the longevity of the coaches [is important], how long they’re going to be there,” Anderson said. “That’s something, I think, Northwestern has a pretty good hold on right now because of Coach Fitz.”
For the moment, Anderson is just excited about his senior season and looking to be even more of an impact player than he was early in high school.
“I’m really, really looking forward to the impact I’ll be able to have as a senior, as kind of the guy on the team and maybe even in the county,” Anderson said. “Being able to be different on the field when everybody’s looking. This hadn’t really been a thought my sophomore and junior year, but now I’m able to have a much larger effect on people.”
