Guard Logan Imes Commits To Notre Dame

Indiana native Logan Imes is the third high school commit in as many days for the Fighting Irish

Notre Dame men’s basketball has picked up its third high school commitment in as many days for the incoming 2023 class. Zionsville, Ind. guard Logan Imes announced his commitment to new head coach Micah Shrewsberry and the Fighting Irish on Wednesday afternoon.

Imes is a three-star prospect who originally signed with Penn State when Shrewsberry was the head coach there. He was granted a release from his national letter of intent and reopened his recruitment after Shrewsberry became head coach at Notre Dame. In the end, Imes - like Carey Booth and Braeden Shrewsberry before him - decided to follow Shrewsberry to Notre Dame.

The 6-4, 175-pound guard had offers from ACC schools Virginia Tech and Wake Forest as well as Butler, Bradley, Creighton, Drake, UMass prior to the original commitment to Penn State.

Imes averaged 16.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals in his senior season at Zionsville High School, which is located just to the northwest of Indianapolis. He also made 41 of 119 (34%) 3-point attempts as a senior and 106 of 323 (33%) in his career.

The combo guard was AAU teammates with fellow Notre Dame commit Braeden Shrewsberry (son of head coach Micah Shrewsberry), who announced his commitment earlier this week. The Irish also got a Tuesday commitment from 6-10 power forward Carey Booth on Tuesday. Imes joins fellow Hoosier and 2023 Indiana Mr. Basketball Markus Burton of Granger, Ind. in the incoming freshman class as well. Burton is the only Mike Brey recruit to stay committed to the class. 

With Notre Dame suffering heavy losses to graduation and the transfer portal, filling up with both high school and transfer players was important.
