Notre Dame Women's Basketball Adds Veteran Transfer Anna DeWolfe

Fordham transfer Anna DeWolfe will bolster Irish 3-point production next season

Notre Dame women’s basketball has added a player to its roster via the transfer portal. The Fighting Irish announced Monday the addition of former Fordham guard Anna DeWolfe.

“We are so excited to welcome Anna to our Notre Dame family,” Irish head coach Niele Ivey said in a release.. “She will bring experience and a dynamic skill set that will translate well into our system. She is a competitive combo guard with an incredible motor. What I love most about Anna is her work ethic, toughness and passion for the game. She matches our team’s identity perfectly!”

DeWolfe, a 5-8 guard, is a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection. She is just the second Fordham player to do so. She was the A-10 Player of the Year in 2021 when she averaged 20.8 points. She averaged 17.0 points in 111 career games in four seasons at Fordham.

The addition of DeWolfe, who will be a graduate student with one remaining year of eligibility next season, will give the Fighting Irish a veteran presence with 3-point prowess. DeWolfe connected on 238 of 707 shots from 3-point range (33.7%) during her Fordham career, including 79 of 223 (35%) this past season. She has never hit fewer than 47 shots from long distance in a season in her career.

She leaves Fordham as the program’s third all-time leading scorer with 1,883 points. The former Miss Maine Basketball (2019) will give the Irish eight scholarship guards next season. Freshman Hannaha Hidalgo and Emma Risch will also join the team this fall to join veterans Olivia Miles, Sonia Citron, Jenna Brown, KK Bransford, and Cassandre Prosper in the backcourt.
