Notre Dame and NBC Sports Sign An Extension Through 2029

Notre Dame has signed an extension with NBC Sports to continue their partnership

Notre Dame and NBC Sports will continue their partnership, with the pair signing an extension of their current deal through the 2029 season.

Notre Dame released a statement prior to the start of the final home game against Wake Forest.

"We are thrilled to continue our historic collaboration with our partner at NBC Sports," retiring athletics director Jack Swarbrick said through the release. "In the next generation of this partnership, we will collaborate to provide our fans even more Notre Dame content through a variety of NBCUniversal's distribution channels while continuing to put our student-athletes and their stories at the heart of our messaging. I want to give special thanks to the leadership of Comcast and NBCUniversal for their continued belief in this historic partnership."

The current deal was set to expire after the 2024 season, but it will now continue for an extra five seasons.

"There is no better tradition than Notre Dame Football in South Bend, and we are thrilled to keep that tradition within the NBC Sports family as we extend our relationship as the exclusive home of Fighting Irish home games through the end of the decade," NBC Sports President Rick Cordella stated. "With enhanced rights that allow us to present Notre Dame Football on NBC, as well as across Peacock and additional platforms, we look forward to bringing the Fighting Irish to fans in more ways than ever before."

The Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game and its spring Pro Day will also be carried on the NBC platforms.

In the release, it was noted that Notre Dame viewership this season is up 86% from last season, averaging 5.1 million viewers per game. It's the largest NBC audience for Notre Dame football since 2005.

There will also be a series released in 2024 that will only be carried on Peacock.

Financial terms were not released.
