Notre Dame DE Julian Okwara Is Out For The Season

As was reported earlier at Irish Maven, Notre Dame senior defensive end Julian Okwara is out for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Okwara left last night's 38-7 victory at Duke with an obvious ankle injury, and head coach Brian Kelly announced this afternoon that Okwara had a fracture in that ankle. That injury will knock Okwara out for the remainder of the 2019 season.
The senior captain leads Notre Dame with five sacks and is second on the squad with seven tackles for loss.
Okwara is a projected 2020 first round NFL Draft pick according to Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay at ESPN, and Dane Brugler at The Athletic.
