Notre Dame Set to Bring Back Green Uniforms for 2024 Season

Notre Dame announced today that its green uniforms will return for the September 28 matchup against Louisville.

Notre Dame announced Thursday that it will be bringing back the green uniforms on September 28 against Louisville, in what will be a sellout crowd at Notre Dame Stadium.

The green uniforms bring mixed opinions and emotions from Notre Dame football fans. Some love the green but hate the green pants, some hate it entirely because they believe the green brings bad luck, etc.

If Notre Dame opts to go with the full green look again this year, fans will have no choice to remember the heartbreaker against Ohio State last year. The one where Notre Dame lost on the very last play of the game in the green unis.

There were plenty of critiques about the full-green look afterwards, but one would have to imagine fans would feel differently if the Irish had knocked off Ohio State that night rather than losing in such heartbreaking fashion.

As it stands, Notre Dame will wear four different uniforms this season, with the potential for more. Since taking over as head coach, Marcus Freeman has shown more flexibility in changing up uniform options game-to-game, as compared to Brian Kelly's style of always wearing the traditional home and away uniforms, plus the Shamrock Series variation.

This season, Notre Dame is set to wear the traditional blue home uniform with gold pants, the traditional white away uniform with gold pants, the green uniforms with what we assume will be green pants again, and then lastly the new 2024 Shamrock Series uniforms.

An interesting variation that we could see this season in one of the true away games for Notre Dame could be the all white look, which was added to EA Sports new video game, College Football 25. As referenced above, Notre Dame traditionally wears gold pants with the white jersey on the road, but the University sent in the all white look as an option into EA Sports, meaning there is intention to wear that combination at some point.

I realize many people aren't concerned with the details of uniforms like me, but this kind of stuff is fun and entertaining to track, and like it or not, recruits pay attention to these kinds of things.
