Jarron Jones Picked In Round 1 Of XFL Lineman Draft
The former Irish defensive tackle was chosen as an offensive lineman by the New York Guardians
Former Notre Dame defensive tackle Jarron Jones was selected by the New York Guardians in the first round of the XFL Offensive Line Draft.
The new XFL held its draft today, and it is broken into segments by position. No former Irish players were chosen in the offensive skill draft, but the Guardians picked Jones with the No. 6 overall pick of the offensive line portion of the draft.
A defensive tackle at Notre Dame, Jones registered 59 career tackles during his Irish career (2012-16). He added 19.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. During his senior season (2016) he racked up 11 tackles for loss, including six in a 30-27 win over Miami.
