Notre Dame star offensive tackle Joe Alt continues to pile up All-American honors, with both ESPN and Sports Illustrated being the latest to name him to their first-team squad.

Alt was truly dominant for the Irish this season, and so far every All-America list has recognized him as one of the two best tackles in the game.

Here is what ESPN had to say.

"Alt is a two-time ESPN All-American and has been a fixture for the Irish at left tackle since the early stages of his freshman season. The 6-8, 322-pound junior has made 33 consecutive starts and is incredibly agile for a guy his size. He started out as a tight end. Alt has given up just one sack and four quarterback pressures in 368 pass-blocking assignments this season, according to Pro Football Focus." - ESPN

Alt has already earned unanimous All-American honors after being named to the first-team by Walter Camp, Sporting News, Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America and the American Football Coaches Association. He also earned first-team All-America honors from CBS Sports, USA TODAY Sports, Pro Football Focus, The Athletic and now ESPN and Sports Illustrated.

Alt is the first unanimous All-American offensive lineman from Notre Dame since Quenton Nelson earned that honor in 2017. Prior to Nelson, the last Notre Dame offensive lineman to earn unanimous All-American honors was Aaron Taylor back in 1993, which shows how rare this honor is.

Alt has earned some type of All-American honor in each of his three seasons at Notre Dame. He was a freshman All-American in 2021, and then earned first-team honors from ESPN, Associated Press, CBS Sports and Pro Football Focus as a sophomore in 2022.
