The preseason All-American lists continue to come out and Phil Steele dropped his in his college football preview magazine, and a trio of Notre Dame players earned spots on his squad.

Junior left tackle Joe Alt earned first-team All-American squads and thus far he's been a consensus first-team pick. Alt being on the first-team lists isn't a surprise after his dominant sophomore season. As a sophomore, the Minnesota native earned first team All-American honors from the Associated Press, Pro Football Focus, CBS Sports, ESPN, and second-team honors from Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America, AFCA, USA Today and The Athletic.

Sophomore cornerback Benjamin Morrison was named to Phil Steele's second-team All-American squad as he also continues to rack up a lot of preseason honors. The Arizona native was a consensus freshman All-American in 2022 after picking off six passes and showing top-notch cover skills, and he's expected to be even better in 2023.

Fifth-year senior long snapper Michael Vinson also earned All-American honors, earning a spot on the second-team Phil Steele squad. One of the more steady players on the team, Vinson often goes overlooked, but he's been an outstanding snapper for the Fighting Irish.

Twenty Notre Dame opponents also earned preseason All-American honors from Phil Steele.

Ohio State had six players on the All-American squad, including first team players Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR) and Tommy Eichenberg (LB). They also had second-team honorees Emeka Egbuka (WR), Donovan Jackson (OL) and DE JT Tuimoloau. They also had third team running back TreVeyon Henderson.

USC was next with five players on the All-American squad, including first team honorees Caleb Williams (QB) and Calen Bullock (S). They also had third-team selection Tajh Washington (WR) and fourth-team honorees Justin Dedich (OL) and punter Eddie Czaplicki (P).

Clemson has four players on the All-American squad, including first-team selections Tyler Davis (DT) and Barrett Carter (LB), as well as third-team players Will Shipley (RB) and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (LB).

NC State (LS Joe Shimko, 1st - CB Ayden White, 3rd) and Duke (OT Graham Barton, 2nd - DT DeWayne Carter, 4th) also had a pair of All-American selections. Stanford placekicker Joshua Karty earned first-team honors.
