WR Michael Young To Transfer

The junior wideout plans to leave Notre Dame.
Mike Dinovo, USA TODAY Sports

According to sources, Notre Dame junior wide receiver Michael Young intends to transfer.

Young has played just three games this season, so he can count this as a redshirt season. Sources I spoke with said Young intends to graduate this year and be eligible next season.

Young initially went to the Irish coaches after the USC victory, but sources said the coaches were able to convince him to stay. That was apparently short-lived, and sources re-affirmed today that Young does intend to transfer.

Young had just six catches for 21 yards in three games. He missed the first three games of the season after breaking his clavicle in fall camp. Young was a standout early in camp, but the junior could not regain his form when he returned from injury.

With Young out, sophomores Braden Lenzy and Lawrence Keys III will now have an opportunity to play more snaps and receive more touches.
